The Director of the National Investigation Bureau (NIB), Nana Attobrah Quaicoe, has voluntarily returned a parcel of unlawfully acquired state land.
The land, located near the El Wak Stadium in Accra, was part of a flawed rezoning process under the Akufo-Addo administration.
Legal practitioner Martin Kpebu revealed that Quaicoe personally contacted Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, chairman of the *Operation Recover All Loot* (ORAL), to communicate his decision.
Kpebu criticized the rezoning process, noting it bypassed necessary procedures, including parliamentary approval, rendering it invalid.
ORAL, established by President John Dramani Mahama in December 2024, aims to recover state properties unlawfully taken.
Quaicoe’s action is seen as a significant step toward accountability and reinforces ORAL’s mission to ensure transparency in managing state assets.
