OSP should rather handle ORAL report, not A-G – Mussa Dankwah

Mussa Dankwah, Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, has urged the government to assign Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) cases to the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) instead of the Attorney-General (A-G) to avoid political interference.

He argues that since these cases will extend beyond President Mahama’s term, a change in government after the 2028 elections could lead to their discontinuation through nolle prosequi.

ORAL’s report, led by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, identified $21.19 billion in potential recoveries. President Mahama forwarded it to the A-G, vowing to fight corruption.

Dankwah insists that prosecuting through the OSP would ensure continuity, prevent accusations of political bias, and strengthen Ghana’s corruption fight beyond government transitions.
