Chairman of the Special Committee investigating the ministerial vetting disturbances, Emmanuel Bedzrah, has warned that constitutional provisions and parliamentary standing orders will be enforced if Minority MPs refuse to appear before the panel.
Addressing the media after Friday’s session, Bedzrah dismissed allegations of bias against him, emphasizing that the inquiry would proceed with or without the Minority’s cooperation. He noted that despite their absence, ten out of eighteen witnesses testified.
The committee expects additional testimonies on Monday, including from MPs and the Clerk of Parliament.
Meanwhile, the Minority has petitioned the Speaker to remove Bedzrah as chairman, accusing him of prejudgment. However, the Speaker has yet to admit their request.
The committee has also sought a two-day extension to finalize its report.
