Prof. Adei criticizes political bias in Mahama’s anti-corruption committee

Prof. Stephen Adei, former chairperson of the National Development Planning Commission, has raised concerns over the composition of President-elect Mahama’s Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) committee.

While acknowledging the competence of the members, Adei pointed out that some have political affiliations, particularly Chairman Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He believes that involving politically tainted individuals could undermine the committee’s effectiveness in fighting corruption.

Adei suggested that non-partisan figures, like Emile Short or Daniel Domelevo, would have been more appropriate for the task.

Mahama had previously explained that the committee's role is to gather evidence of corruption, which would then be forwarded to the relevant authorities for investigation.
