Veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt has endorsed the efforts of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team but insists that retrieving stolen public funds should be the priority over jailing offenders.
The ORAL team has submitted its investigations on 36 high-profile corruption cases to President Mahama, who has forwarded them to the Attorney-General for prosecution.
According to Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Ghana could recover up to $20.49 billion if these funds are successfully reclaimed.
Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo, Pratt emphasized that retrieving embezzled assets would benefit the country more than imprisoning culprits, urging authorities to focus on reclaiming stolen state resources.
