Economic Policy Analyst Senyo Hosi has issued a stern warning about the deepening conflict in Bawku, stressing that without urgent, strategic intervention, the unrest could escalate into a full-scale civil conflict.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile, he described Bawku as one of Ghana’s most dangerous hotspots and criticized the government’s security approach as fragmented and ineffective.
Hosi emphasized that the situation demands a national, bipartisan response that addresses both security and the underlying socio-economic grievances. He highlighted the economic desperation and unresolved historical tensions fueling the crisis and urged leaders to look beyond partisan interests.
According to Hosi, failure to act decisively could have dire consequences for national stability, warning, “We cannot afford to look away—the cost of inaction could be catastrophic.”
