Security forces in Bawku have intensified efforts to curb violence by deploying high-altitude drones to track and apprehend gunmen.
This advanced surveillance strategy has already led to the capture of suspects and the recovery of weapons.
Early this morning, heavy gunfire erupted in the Bawku-Gingande and Kpalore areas, although no casualties were reported.
The move comes after recent killings, including the December 16 deaths of Moro Aziz, a mentally ill man, and Kasim, who was shot while relocating.
These incidents add to a growing death toll of 35 since violent clashes reignited in October 2024.
Authorities are working to restore order amid escalating tensions in the region.
