Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah has met with Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak and Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga to assess the security situation in Bawku.

Following the meeting, Dr. Boamah reaffirmed President John Mahama’s commitment to resolving the conflict through traditional means.

He emphasized the need to restore peace and stability in Bawku and pledged his full support for the effort.

Bawku has been experiencing escalating violence, leading to the closure of several courts in the Upper East Region.

In response to security concerns, the Chief Justice ordered the shutdown of key judicial facilities, including the High Court and Circuit Court in Bolgatanga.

President Mahama recently visited Bawku to engage directly with the affected communities.
