Former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu has called on President John Mahama to launch an urgent investigation into the raid on the residence of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
On February 11, a group of armed individuals, including military and police officers, stormed Ofori-Atta’s Cantonments home while he was abroad.
Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng later claimed the raid was staged and declared Ofori-Atta wanted for corruption-related offenses.
Amidu, however, insists the public deserves answers on the motive behind the operation, raising concerns about possible political interference.
He questioned whether Richard Jakpa, allegedly involved in the raid, would have acted if the controversial Ambulance case had not been withdrawn.
Amidu insists the President must act swiftly to ensure justice.
