The Executive Director of the Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII), Mary Awalena Addah, has stressed the need for the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to operate independently, free from political interference.

Speaking on TV3, she emphasized that the OSP plays a crucial role in investigating corruption and ensuring accountability, citing the case of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

While acknowledging concerns over the timing of his summons, she urged authorities to explore international cooperation if he remains outside the country.

Addah dismissed claims of political witch-hunting, insisting that the anti-corruption fight must continue, regardless of political transitions.

She called for public support for the OSP while ensuring accountability, warning that efforts must go beyond rhetoric to deliver real action.
