Speaker blasts NPP for blaming NDC over Mini-Budget delays

Alban Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament

Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has rejected accusations from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) majority caucus that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) minority is responsible for delays in presenting the government’s mini-budget.

Responding to comments by First Deputy Majority Whip Habib Iddrisu, Bagbin labeled the claims baseless, clarifying that the delay stemmed from reasons unrelated to the NDC.

He warned the majority caucus against pushing him to reveal details that could harm their party.

The Finance Minister, Dr. Amin Adam, has been absent from parliamentary proceedings for four consecutive days, leaving pressing fiscal matters unresolved.

Minority Leader Dr. Ato Forson has urged the minister to fulfill his constitutional duties, warning of legal and political ramifications if the mini-budget is not presented promptly.
