A deadly attack on a passenger bus in Walewale has left two dead, with the vehicle completely burned.

The incident occurred when gunmen ambushed the Kumasi-Garu-bound bus after a brief stop near the ADB Bank.

The attack is suspected to be linked to the ongoing Bawku Chieftaincy conflict, which has seen renewed violence.

This comes a day after a similar attack near Wulugu, where three passengers were killed and their bus torched.

In a related clash, three more people were killed in Bawku, bringing the total death toll in the conflict to 54 since October 2024.
