Five-month-old baby killed in Bawku

A five-month-old baby girl has been brutally killed in Bawku after attackers snatched her from her mother and smashed her to the ground.

The mother, who was out trading, was reportedly tracked, beaten, and had her child forcibly taken before the horrific act.

This latest killing adds to the rising violence in Bawku and along the Bolgatanga-Tamale highway, pushing the death toll to 55 since October 2024.

Despite security interventions, armed assailants continue deadly attacks, leaving residents and travelers in fear.

The worsening situation has renewed urgent calls for stronger government action to restore peace in the area.
