President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed that his administration will not cancel the Free Senior High School (SHS) program but will instead improve its implementation.
Speaking during his State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Thursday, Mahama emphasized his commitment to enhancing the policy.
“Mr Speaker, let me repeat it once again. I, John Dramani Mahama, will not cancel the Free SHS Program. I will rather make it better from the implementation problems that it has been facing,” he declared.
He also announced the scrapping of the double-track system, focusing on infrastructural expansion to improve efficiency.
Mahama assured that his government’s reforms would enhance access, quality, and sustainability, ensuring better learning conditions for students.
