Majority apologizes to Ken Ofori-Atta over raid

The Majority in Parliament has apologized to former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta following a military and police raid on his residence.

Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga described the incident as regrettable, stating that National Security official Richard Jakpa led the operation.

He assured that such actions would not happen again under President Mahama’s leadership.

Meanwhile, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has officially named Ofori-Atta a suspect in four major corruption cases, including the National Cathedral project and SML deals.

The OSP dismissed the raid as staged and declared Ofori-Atta a wanted person, demanding his immediate return from the U.S. for questioning.

However, the OSP has faced criticism over the timing of its actions, with critics accusing the office of political bias and selective prosecution. Some argue that the move appears to favor the current administration.
