National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, is calling on party members to be patient as the current administration works to hold former officials accountable for corruption.
Addressing concerns about the perceived slow pace of the ORAL (Office of the Registrar of Assets and Liabilities) process, Nketia assured the public that the government is intentionally taking its time to gather concrete evidence against appointees from the Akufo-Addo era. He explained that rushing prosecutions could result in weak cases, allowing culprits to walk free.
“We know people are frustrated, even some accused persons are mocking the delay, but we’re building airtight cases,” he said on Accra FM.
Nketia stressed that justice will be served in due course and that all those who misused public office will face the law. His comments were aimed at reassuring the NDC base that efforts to clean up public service are ongoing and deliberate.
