The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has set May 30, 2025, as the final date for former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to appear for questioning over a corruption-related case.
According to Sammy Darko, Director of Strategy, Research, and Communication at the OSP, Ofori-Atta was declared wanted after repeatedly failing to confirm a date for his appearance.
However, his lawyers have now proposed a timeline, leading to the removal of his wanted status.
Darko warned that if Ofori-Atta fails to show up, legal steps will be taken to bring him back to Ghana.
He also dismissed suggestions for the OSP to travel abroad for questioning, stating that the process could involve an arrest, which cannot be carried out in a foreign country.
