NPP’s Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah, has dismissed claims that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is fleeing the country, insisting he is not a flight risk.

His remarks follow the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s (OSP) declaration of Ofori-Atta as a fugitive over alleged financial losses linked to the National Cathedral project and the Ghana Revenue Authority’s partnership with Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd. (SML).

Speaking on JoyNews Ahiagbah argued that labeling Ofori-Atta a fugitive suggests he is guilty before trial. He emphasized that the former minister remains a suspect and is fully available to cooperate with investigations.

He also cited Ofori-Atta’s health concerns, urging authorities to allow him the necessary space for medical attention.
