Majority Chief Whip Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has clarified his role in the January 30 parliamentary scuffle, stating that he was trying to prevent an injury.
Speaking on TV3, the South Dayi MP explained that Gushegu MP Hassan Tampuli was pushing a Western North MP toward a cracked table, which could have caused severe harm.
In an attempt to intervene, Tampuli grabbed his fugu while he held onto Tampuli’s shirt.
Dafeamekpor insisted that he was not seeking a fight but ensuring his colleague’s safety.
He urged Tampuli to disengage, reminding him that as lawyers, they should resolve differences without physical confrontations.
