The Majority Caucus has petitioned Speaker Alban Bagbin to recall Parliament to address urgent government business.

Parliament was indefinitely adjourned on November 7 due to the Business Committee's failure to present a prepared agenda.

In a letter dated November 22, 2024, Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin proposed reconvening on November 28 and 29, citing critical issues, including tax exemptions under the One District, One Factory programme, a $250 million facility for the Ghana Financial Stability Fund, Supreme Court nominations, and mining lease ratifications.

Afenyo-Markin emphasized that reconvening would demonstrate Parliament's commitment to national unity and stability amid the electoral season.

Speaker Bagbin previously expressed frustration over delays caused by the absence of committee input, stressing the need for a clear agenda for parliamentary proceedings.
