Ghana's Parliament is currently on recess, set to return on January 6, 2025, unless an emergency recall occurs, as permitted by Speaker Alban Bagbin under Article 112 (3) of the Constitution or Order 53 of the Standing Orders.

The Third Session of the Eighth Parliament, which began on January 30, 2024, is scheduled to conclude on January 3, 2025, before the Ninth Parliament starts on January 7, 2025, with an official ceremony at Black Stars Square.

MPs will focus on their constituencies during the recess as they campaign for the upcoming elections.

The new session will introduce a new Speaker, leadership, and possibly a shift in parliamentary majority.
