The NDC caucus in Parliament has urged the Speaker to reject plans for a recall of Parliament on November 28-29, 2024, calling it ill-timed and unnecessary.
In a memo, the caucus argued that interrupting their current engagements to return would be counterproductive, especially with the December 7 general elections approaching.
They emphasized the need to prioritize a peaceful electoral process over legislative activities that could exacerbate existing tensions.
The caucus proposed postponing the recall until after the elections, allowing Parliament to reconvene and deliberate on pressing issues in a more stable environment.
