Your request to recall Parliament is declined – Bagbin to Afenyo-Markin

With less than two weeks until the December 7 elections, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has rejected the Majority's request to recall the House before the polls.

In a memo dated November 26, Bagbin stated that Parliament would reconvene after the elections to address key issues and ensure a smooth transition to the 9th Parliament.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining decorum and acting in the national interest.

Bagbin also highlighted that the election period is crucial for candidates to present their manifestos and assess their past term's performance.

The decision follows calls from the NDC caucus to dismiss the NPP's request.
