Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has reaffirmed his unwavering stance on the Anti-LGBTQI Bill, revealing its resubmission to Parliament as a Private Member’s Bill.

Speaking on TV3 on April 11, the Ningo Prampram MP stressed that while his views on the matter remain unchanged, he believes the bill would gain broader legitimacy if backed by the government.

He now awaits an invitation from the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee to proceed further.

President John Dramani Mahama has taken a more measured approach, advocating for government-led reintroduction of the bill to enhance its credibility.

While not opposing the legislation, Mahama has urged broader consultations and warned against external influence, calling on global institutions to respect Ghanaian values and cultural sovereignty in legislative matters.
