President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his strong stance in support of the Anti-LGBTQ Bill, emphasizing that there are only two genders—male and female.
Addressing the clergy in Accra on Friday, February 28, 2025, he reiterated his belief in traditional family values, asserting that marriage is solely between a man and a woman.
Mahama disclosed that discussions were ongoing with the Speaker of Parliament to reintroduce the Proper Family Values Bill, which seeks to criminalize LGBTQ+ activities.
The bill had previously been passed by the eighth Parliament but did not receive presidential assent under the Akufo-Addo administration.
